Learning the traditional Trinidadian way of Steelpan from a NY Panorama winning Arranger. Classes will lead up to a showcase featuring the East of the River Steelband and YOU!

About Roger Greenidge
Roger Greenidge was born in Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies. He has been playing the steel drums since the early 1970s. In 1972 he joined the WITCO Desperadoes Steel Orchestra, widely recognized as one of the world’s premier steel orchestras. As a member of the Desperadoes, he served as both a performer and a music arranger. His performances won him eight first-place awards.
Roger Greenidge toured with the Desperadoes from 1983 to 1991. He has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City, as well as the Apollo Theatre. He has performed as a special guest artist with the Desperadoes in concerts featuring Nancy Wilson, Liza Minelli, Aretha Franklin, Third World and recorded with rap artist NAS. Greenidge has also performed with Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band and the New York Pops Orchestra at Carnegie Hall.
Mr. Greenidge has been a music arranger for a number of performing groups in both New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC regions. He is currently sharing his musical talents and his outstanding teaching skills in pan music as the Music Director of the East of the River Boys and Girls Steel Band in Washington, DC and the Pan Masters Steel Orchestra in North Brentwood, Maryland. Roger Greenidge has worked with the Boys & Girls Steelband for more than 20 years and was featured on their CD Pan in DC. Roger is also a member of a group called Escabo, a French pop/folk group that travels all over the United States doing performances and gigs at many colleges, universities and corporate company events.
